Current expertise:
SVANOVA is the largest supplier of veterinary diagnostic kits in Scandinavia. Recently it was a company associated with the National Veterinary Institute. It became independent from January 2001. The company started in 1991. It has a staff of 28 researchers and technicians. SVANOVA develops, manufactures, sells and markets products for veterinary diagnostics for bovine, porcine, ovine, canine avian and equine infectious diseases. The background knowledge and expertise available in the various departments of the NVI give SVANOVA unique opportunities to explore new technologies. All SVANOVA products are developed, evaluated, trimmed and adapted to the needs of diagnostic laboratories based on experience of market and individual needs.
SVANOVA Biotech is a leading developer and manufacturer for tests based on enzyme linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). SVANOVA will participate in the project by setting up methods of monoclonal antibody-based capture of the different virus antigens and nucleic acid probes. SVANOVA will also carry out market research for new assays based on the spin off results from the project suited for commercial exploitation.
